Cynthia Rose, L.Ac.

My goal as a practitioner is to provide a holistic approach to healthcare that incorporates Acupuncture and Bodywork along with a comprehensive evaluation of my patients' dietary and nutritional needs. This includes taking a look at the way that you eat, as well as putting together a customized nutritional program that addresses your own specific health issues. This will also improve your digestion, your concentration and maximize your energy throughout the day.

Although each patient's treatment plan is different, my goal is to reduce the number of office visits by combining Nutrition and Acupuncture treatments with The Bowen Technique, Manual therapies and the use of Cold Lasers. More than a decade ago I trained to become a Gokhale Method teacher. Teaching this technique fits in well with my other work as posture is so often a contributing factor to chronic pain. Posture can also affect digestion, the way we breathe as well as emotional and hormonal balance.

I have been working in the alternative healthcare field for over 25 years. Originally trained as a Massage Therapist, I took my work to a deeper level by receiving a Master's Degree in Acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture. There I studied Acupuncture Physical Medicine with Dr. Mark Seem and Japanese Meridian Acupuncture with Kiiko Matsumoto. These two styles have greatly influenced the work that I do today.

Previous to my work in this field, for more than a decade, I was a professional opera singer and sang as a soloist with the NYC Opera. While I was singing, I had the opportunity to experience the work of practitioners all over the world and felt first hand what a profound effect Acupuncture and Nutrition can have on maintaining and reclaiming good health. Because of this connection I have worked with many performers over the years, including instrumentalists, dancers, actors and singers.

In my practice I see a great number of patients with chronic pain. I also work with many patients that have allergies that affect their respiratory or digestive tract, fatigue, depression, hormonal imbalances and infertility. This type of work helps your body remember how to repair and right itself after illness, injury or any type of stress. My goal is to make this a pain-free process that can be accomplished as quickly as possible.

Currently I see patients on the Upper West Side.
